After a seven-month’s absence from cartooning, I’m back. A covid infection in January, the ensuing cascade of health problems, and moving to another state last month, are the main reasons for the hiatus. 2022 has been a rough year so far.

This year’s “Christmas” card–which actually made into print, and (slowly) into the hands of family and friends.
Happy New Year (I hope), and good luck in 2022!

This summarizes my aggrieved feelings towards The Year That Was 2020.
While this did not actually get sent as a card last year, it seemed to resonate with friends who saw it on Facebook. Though one made the excellent suggestion that there ought to have been fire under the trash can….

Welcome to the nebulous week between Christmas and New Year’s!
This is a Christmas card design from 2018–in spite of the fact that it is dated to 2017 (seems I never got used to writing the new date that year). It was my first time coloring a panel with colored pencil, rather than digitally, and I struggled with scanning it. But I still love this one!
This little panel went on the inside front of the card. Poor mouse!

Bonus trivia: this card was was inspired by a Christmas card from World War I, below:

“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.”
The last of the mini Christmas cards from 2010.
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

Two more days to get wrapped up for Christmas!
I really enjoy drawing and coloring these little cartoons, and then staging them for photos. Possibly I get more of a kick out of doing it than anyone else gets out of looking at them! If you happen to like this, however, I usually post these on the Lab Mice Instagram (which also has more behind-the-scenes content) or Facebook page.

“It’s nice you know, to kiss your beau, while cuddling under the mistletoe…”
~”Christmas in Killarney”
Another mini card from 2010.

…”Not even a mou–” Oh, nevermind….
This was among the first comics I drew in college (see the original below!), which I later polished up and colored for a Christmas card.

For all the holiday cooks and bakers out there, this will be available as a card in the Lab Mice Etsy shop–opening soon!

Another 2010 cartoon for a series of mini Christmas Cards.

Christmas is right around the corner!
This is a twelve-year-old (!) cartoon that I created for a set of mini Christmas cards.
