Today is the deadline to file your income taxes here in the U.S. Since I had already filed mine and didn’t have to spend the day frantically filling out tax forms, I was able to spend it drawing a last-minute comic instead.

The spiffed-up version!
I have enjoyed watching videos where people re-create the solar eclipse using common objects, such as library books, frying pans, cats, and hamsters.

An Inktober 2023 comic that is now my annual Pi Day/Ides of March comic. Stab stab stab….

Based on a true story.
I’ve mentioned before that I experience “brain fog” due to POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which is a blood circulation disorder–turns out, if your brain isn’t getting enough blood flow, and therefore enough oxygen, it causes some problems. Like forgetting things. Including how to do things you believed you did “mindlessly,” like using a microwave. I put my food in the microwave, closed the door, and realized that I had absolutely no idea what to do next. I did eventually remember (hint: you push the buttons), but only after staring blankly at the microwave long enough for my food to have heated up.

And 2024 has the audacity to tack an extra day on at the end.
I’ve been extra tired and unmotivated recently, and I’m blaming it on February. Thankfully the month ends in a couple of days–so I can move on to March Melancholy. π

Credit for the pun goes entirely to my husband.

Finally weighing in on this important topic. π
After you’ve had oily melting puddles of hot mayonnaise on your pizza, or been served pizza topped with yellow corn and canned tuna fish, pineapple on pizza seems like a great idea.
It is, for certain, not the worst.

I’ve lived most of my life in a climate with fairly cold, snowy winters, so winters in the place I’m now living, with its milder climate, is taking some getting used to.βOn the one hand, it’s nice not to have to worry so much about snow removal and winter weather driving.βOn the other hand–I like snow.βAnd it’s confusing to have all winter look like early March.β
A little more snow, please, Winter?
(Also, my snowflakes look like a distracted spider made themπ ).

Those tubes can be surprisingly difficult to open, so they tend to pop at the exact moment when you are convinced the thing is never going to yield.
