While “J” and “K” were two of the hardest letters to think of words (or phrases) for, once I thought of “K”, I knew exactly what the cartoon would be…and it’s one of my favorites. I think it probably reflects times other than pandemics, too–like maybe summer vacation.

“J” and “K” were two of the hardest letters to think of “words” (or phrases) for. But this seemed to fit, for a time when everyone’s spaces and responsibilities were being rearranged.
Also, “responsibilities” has so many “i”s in it at the end, that I had to look up the spelling to make sure I wasn’t just adding them in for fun.

I’m still determined to finish Q is for Quarantine, even if it has been almost 2-1/2 years in the making, simply out of sheer stubbornness. We’re not called covid “long-haulers” for nothing!
I drew these while sick with covid (confirmed, this time) in January. Though not as severe this time as it was in March 2020, it still dragged on and caused further health issues. I do really wish all of it would just go away….
After a seven-month’s absence from cartooning, I’m back. A covid infection in January, the ensuing cascade of health problems, and moving to another state last month, are the main reasons for the hiatus. 2022 has been a rough year so far.
This year’s “Christmas” card–which actually made into print, and (slowly) into the hands of family and friends.

It’s been interesting to see how these comics have aged since April 2020. This was about the mad scramble as governments and organizations tried to figure out how to handle rising case numbers in mid-March. I pitied news anchors at the time, when information was changing so rapidly.
