Christmas Lights, Panel 1

Color! 🤩

Trying something different for the remainder of December by creating a comic per week using the squares on my Instragram grid. That won’t quite work here on the blog, but I’ll still be posting the three panels for each comic on Monday (or Tuesday, in this week’s case), Wednesday, and Friday, and the complete comic on Friday, as well. Check back tomorrow for the next panel and watch the comic unfold over the week!

(Crossing my fingers that this turns out the way I envision it on IG! Check it out at @labmice_am)

Scamagram

Some people (or bots) on Instagram seem to be taking “If Lab Mice Were a Cat Comic” a bit too literally. I keep getting spam messages offering my cartoon mice free pet accessories,🐱🐶 if only they’ll model said products. I wondered just how that would look, so here we are: Lab Mice, in their experimental capacity, trying out some of my cats’ stuff.

*No cartoon mice were harmed in the making of these comics. No cats were deprived more than temporarily of their possessions. It was already too late for the toy mouse.

Mouse and Rat

How can you tell the difference between a mouse and a rat? Rats are larger than mice, have blunt noses, thicker tails, and carry handy signs identifying their species.

Thanks to @ratsign on Instagram for letting me borrow his character for a comic! Go check out his amazing miniature artwork–you might spot a Lab Mouse hanging out with a buddy! (And you’ll see why I sweated over drawing R@ just right).
